Lobsters, Mom's Lobster Casserole $45.00

When Elaine's family gathers in Maine for vacation, the first question is "Which night is Mom making the Lobster Casserole." It is written exactly as it is made. A great family recipe without exact amounts but includes directions for the number of family members who have gathered at the table.

For your information, lobster are sometimes caught with a claw missing from battles in the wild, they are called "culls." Notice how angry this lobster is. I never noticed this until after I completed the painting!

Go to Buddy's and ask for culls. Use 1 less than diners (depends upon size of lobsters and if you’re buying whole lobsters or culls; use at least 4)
1 cup of rotini per lobster; at least 3 cups
1 cup of milk
Grated sharp cheddar cheese - grate 'til you're tired of grating; that will be enough.
Butter
1/2 cup or more dry sherry (you can use any kind of sherry, I've even used Harvey’s Bristol Cream)
Cook Rotini until just tender; drain and rinse. Heat milk, season with salt and pepper and pour over rotini; stir.
Cut off a piece of butter and throw it in the pan - might be a half a stick. Sauté the lobster in the butter 3-4 minutes; add sherry.
Place a layer of rotini in a casserole. Spoon a layer of lobster over it. Sprinkle with cheese. Repeat, ending with cheese on top.
Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and melty.
